ABOUT KIM

Behind Phronesis Consulting is me, Kim Jensen — a programme and project director with more than 30 years of experience leading complex IT and business transformations.

I'm originally from Funen, spent 10 years living and working in Copenhagen and 15 in Jutland, and have an international career behind me that included six years in India. That experience is no accident: a large part of my work has been building and leading global delivery teams across cultures and time zones — something that takes far more than processes and systems to pull off. Today I'm based in Viborg, but the whole of Denmark is my workplace.

My career runs from technical project manager at IBM to senior programme and director roles at some of Denmark's leading companies: Danske Bank, KMD, Carlsberg, Vestas, Norlys and, most recently, Bankdata. Along the way I led Norlys's IT merger with Telia Denmark — a major transition — and built service management and operations organisations from the ground up on the back of ITIL, SIAM and ServiceNow.

What still makes the work meaningful after 30 years is finding calm and direction at the heart of the complex: getting the right people together, steadying situations under pressure, and watching a programme go from chaos and ambition to stable, well-run operations. My leadership style is empathetic and built on trust, but with high expectations of the delivery — I keep my word and stay dependable when the pressure's on.

Outside work, I keep in shape and take to the kitchen with the same energy — Indian food for preference, a legacy of my years in India — and a mix of non-fiction and a good novel. It's the same practical wisdom the name Phronesis points to: knowing what needs doing, and acting wisely in the situation in front of you.
